I first met Dan Clancy when I was President of Durham College, and he was a professor in the Music Business Management program. He brought a wealth of experience and vitality to the program and his students, including the development and implementation of a summer Rock and Roll Camp.
I also worked with Dan on the recording of my album of original songs, Urban Gin, in which he was supremely professional and terrific. In recent years I've attended 5 Lighthouse concerts where Dan, as lead singer, gripped the audience with supreme enthusiasm and talent.

My relationship with Dan stems back to when he was a teenager and I was a recording artist signed to Quality Records; both managed by the same management company in Oshawa, ON., Canada We became friends immediately. I met Dan early on in my tenure at Q107. I believe it was a lacrosse game that we share an interest in. He was singing the national anthems at the Scotia Bank Centre in Toronto for the NLL Toronto Rock Lacrosse club. We have had the pleasure of Dan Clancy sharing his gift of music on two separate occasions at Greenbank United Church.
The first time he performed on his own and the second time he brought along his long- time bassist and friend, Steve Steele.
Both performances were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
The range in Dan’s voice allows him to perform many different genres of music.
The shows were intimate and personal, and his light-hearted sense of humour added to the experience.

I saw Dan Clancy for the first time at a private event in someone's home. He had the audience captivated with his song selection, energy, and range of voice.

 The next time I saw Dan was in a concert setting as the lead singer of Lighthouse. His energy and range of voice were again captivating.

 Some years later I had the pleasure of seeing him live for the third time in a very intimate setting for 60 people. His performance had not changed. Dan's song selection continued to be spot on.
